BCS has been commissioned to co-ordinate and complete the GRIP 4 surveys and GRIP 5 detailed design for the West Ealing Sidings project. The project involves the construction of a new stabling depot complete with Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) facilities. The depot has been commissioned in order to provide alternative GWR stabling facilities for the soon to be closed Old Oak Common sidings which are making way to facilitate proposed Crossrail works.

BCS had co-ordinated the completion of all surveys carried out at the site, including Geotechnical Investigation, Topographic, CCTV drainage, M&E, Telecoms and cable management surveys. All surveys have been completed to feed into the GRIP 5 detailed design which is currently being undertaken. As part of the GRIP 5 design, BCS will complete the Civil design elements for the site.

These include the following: Removal of existing buildings and associated foundation slabs; provision of a new modular building for welfare and GWR Staff complete with foundations and required services; installation of the Controlled Emissions Toilets (CET) with pump room and associated foundations; access walkways including track crossings for drivers and CET operators; UTX and URX crossings where required; foundations for OLE structures, signal posts and lighting columns; alterations to Plasser UK fenceline and gates to reflect new track alignments; removal of existing chippings bin and associated foundation and provision for new chippings bin foundation in new location.

Once completed, the new depot facilities will form an integral part of the GWR train maintenance program.
